Update on my problem. Got in the car today while waiting to have it towed to the Chevy dealer. Started it and Column is no longer locked. Think I'm just going to order the CLB device and leave it alone. Do you guys agree or should it still go to the dealer for safety reasons? Sure would hate it to lock up while driving it...

Yes. Do not drive it, the motor might be worn out, now that the pin retracts, get the CLB and be done with it.

okay seeing I'm not on here that often, what is a CLB and where do you get it? How hard is it to install?

Search clb, you'll see over 200 threads. Read the stickies at the top. Lot easier than trying to retype all that.
