Default Caliper bracket bolt question
Hello, I am replacing the calipers and rotors on my 2002 convertible. I removed the caliper brackets to clean and paint them and noticed that the bolts that attach them had some sort of thread locker on the threads. Does anyone know what locktite I need to use on reassembly? Thanks, Al.

Default RED or BLUE Locktite???
It's been about a year and half ago that I did the same thing, but I think it was the BLUE locktite that I used. I think there are only two choices, either RED or BLUE.
One locks it real tight, the other locks it FOREVER!!!! Just check the labels first.

When I pulled mine off the other day it had traces of Red on the threads........so I used red when I put them back together.

Service manual actually calls for new bolts that have a locker/sealer on them which is red.

New pads, like the hawk hps plus come with red, so I use red on the caliper and pad bracket bolts.

Red on caliper bracket bolts torqued to 125 ft-lbs
Blue on caliper pin bolts torqued to 20 ft-lbs.

Look at new bolts that come with pads. RED, and RED on the large caliper mounting bolts too.
