I searched the archives and couldn't find anything. I know I need 8 hockey pucks and some sort of epoxy and eye screw. Someone fill me in on the specifics! Thanks.
C5 Noir, check out this site, Pat has some really interesting and helpful stuff... http://www.97vette.com
... but I personally I went ahead and bought 4 pucks from http://www.cau-llc.com/prices.htm
I keep the pucks in the car...last visit to my dealer they put some very small cracks in the rocker panel (not visible unless your flat on your back...but I know they are there). Now I will insist that they use the pucks I purchased.
got my pucks (4) at Play it Again . Hard to find here in md. Went to Home Depot and got 4 cabinet *****. They are oval shaped like the whole in the vette. I got several kind since I was not sure exactly what size. The ones I ended up with were just slightly to big to fit so I ground them on my bench grider a little. Then drilled a hole in the center of each puck and installed cablinet ***** with included screws. Total cost $10. Jeff
Adamsocb, Hey, you could make me a set and I'd gladly pay you for em' :).
Who wants to make me some and send them to me, I'll pay for materials, shipping and $5 for your time :).

It's really easy, just drill a hole in the center of the puck then screw the eye screws in. Here's a pic:
I'd be happy to make them, but I'm afraid by the time I get my time, gas and expenses into it, I'd have to charge about $100.
Four bucks for hockey pucks (Wash. Caps, of course), $1.00 for screws, and four bucks for four cabinet handles. Grind down the sides of the handles and voila' four pucks-$9.00. Buy them off the vendors, voila' four pucks-$85.00+shipping. Took me 1/2 a day to get materials and make 'em. would've taken 3-4 days (maybe) to be processed and shipped to you.
Adamsocb, could you measure the length and width of those eye bolts? Thanks
The outside diameter of my eye-bolts are 1" and they are 1/4" thick. The lenth of the double-decker pads on my site mean you need a 3" long bolt. Adamsocb's bolt should be 2" long.
Fella's, I don't have problem putting them together. It's just that hockey pucks are hard to find here, that's why I have requested others to make em' for me or hell I'll just buy 8 pucks from someone on here, lol!

What no Ice hockey in KY?
If I'm near the sporting goods store I'll try to pick some up and send them to you no cost. No promises but I'll try.....
I made mine from 3/4 inch oak. I used a hole saw in my drill press and sawed out 8 disks so I could make 4 pucks. I used a 2 3/8 in hole saw; that's plenty big.
I glued 2 disks together to give me the thickness I wanted. Since the hole saw used a 1/4 inch pilot hole, I used 3/8 diameter eye bolts.
I use the pucks every time I change the oil and they work great. I couldn't locate the hockey pucks either......that's why I chose to go this route.
I used the directions on 97Vette.com ... they work great... if you are worried about the bolts... just buy a few of each size ... then reutrn the others.... as for the hockey pucks... are there no sporting goods stores nearby? if not ... a hardware store may have rubber disks similar to pucks since they seem to have everything...
A double height hockey puck is a great idea.. I was thinking of wood, but that's much better. I can't think of anything at the hardware store that would be as good.
How tall would the pucks need to be in order to accomodate a dealer lift??
As for you guys down south with no hockey pucks. I'd trade it all for some good BBQ!
