I'm interested in having the dealer flush my automatic transmission and use some Amsoil fluid I already have available. According to them, they aren't able to put other kinds of transmission fluid in their machine other than the stuff they use for everyone else... anyone with experience with those able to tell if that's really the case? Or should I call back/look elsewhere? It's not something I'd really like to do myself at this point.
Might be the fact that if the dealer is doing your A4 fluid flush they may want to use "GM" fluid as they will have to warrant the work they do. I did have my dealer do a coolant flush with a new thermostat and I supplied the distilled water and they supplied the Dex-Cool. Dealerships have their name on the work and they want to be comfortable with the ATF. You might call around to another dealer or two and you might find a more sympathetic service writer? Good Luck and let us all know how things worked out. You might also go to the "regional postings" area here and find some independent shop near you who can do the work for you with "your" fluid.

Reason: spelling
You can fill the flush machines with any fluid that you want prior to connecting them to the vehicle. I also suspect it's a warranty or liability issue...

We can fill the machine with Whiskey if you want to. We have done many customers flushes that wanted synthetic fluid or a special brand that they liked before doing the procedure. It should not be too difficult to find a shop that will be willing to do what you ask.

Wouldn't that ruin the Whiskey? I am sure that the transmission would impart a rather metallic taste into the whiskey and render it undrinkable. And are you using a single malt or a blended whiskey, it makes all the difference in the world!

Yes it would, but that's what I hear is in the C6 so someone here will certinly want to find out how to use it. My dealership has flushed my trani twice and put in my chosen - no problem
