I thinking of purchasing a set of 20" rims with 295 30 tires installed on a C5 Z06 and putting them on my standard C5. Does anyone have 20's installed on there C5. How will the ride be affected???? Will I notice a difference in the stiffness of a 30 compared to the runflat 40's. What about bending the rims???? Will it be a hard ride?????

your rotating weight inertia will affect the cars handling even if the wheels are the same weight.. The tires are part of the suspension so going from 30's -40's will make a difference. 20" wheels will probably weigh a ton more especially if they are cheap wheels and the tires will be heavier. It may look nice park but will not handle the same. Gearing will change if diameter is different.

20s are only good for BLING, everything else will suffer.
hi mate
19 front 20 on rear.i have found that my set up is really good.
the ride is dare i say it better than the stock fi goodyears.
and the grip is hell and gone.as for handling ,it has much less roll, its more like a gokart without the twitchy $hit.we have some bad road
sufaces here ,to be honest i am amazed at how the car feels over the bumps.i reckon this may be down to $$$$ these wheels and tires arent
the cheapest.they seem to have been very well balanced.well done to wcc for that. tires are conti contact 3,more grip with less side wall my 2 cents fwiw
No one ever mentions that changing to a larger diameter wheel and tire, changes your gear ratio for the worst, as far as acceleration... You will need to change to a 3.73 axle ratio if you go with big wheels and tires.

No one mentions it, because most people who go to larger wheels keep the same overall tire diameter, so gearing is unaffected.
My 19" front tires are 25.7" tall, my 20" rears are 26.6" - same as the stock 17/18" setup.
I run the 295/30R20s on the rear of my C5...the 305/30R20s are too short, and look disproportionate when compared to the front tire height. Here are a few pics....I think they go great with the 265/30R19s in front.
so then your side wall changes which is like changing your spring rate.
My above post was only aimed at the gearing concern, and the quoted "necessity" to run 3.73's to compensate.
And, yes I forgot to mention that in my experience the ride quality switching to 19/20" remained relatively unchanged compared to the stock rock-hard EMT's
I'm sure you'd agree it's fully possible a shorter sidewall tire can still have more flexibility than a taller tire that was designed to support the car with 0 air pressure...so no, I don't agree that a reduction in sidewall automatically equals a change in effective spring rate. Given a tire of equal design and construction, it would make sense that a shorter sidewall would be stiffer, but not all tires are constructed equally.
I'm running 305/25/20 in the rear and 275/30/19 in the front. Conti sport contact 2's. They are excellent in comparison to the GY runflats, and are much better at grip. I am running iforged wheels and have not had any problems with our crappy pothole roads (although a few potholes scared the hell out of me; thinking I wrecked a wheel).
This is definitely a heavier set-up than 18's or 19's, but unless your racing you'll never notice the miniscule loss in acceleration.
As for the bling factor, everybody I come across says the car looks spectacular with 20's.
Just my .02
