I had changed my rotors and pads from stock to the GM slotted and drilled rotors and DuraStop ceramic pads a while ago. Although I appreciated the much lower dust I didn't like the way they bit above 50mph. Once I had to get on the brakes pretty hard from 60mph and although they stopped me in time I felt I had to use a good bit of leg to do so.
---
I decided to try the EBC 'Green Stuff' pads. What I don't like about them is the green color of the pad that showsthrough the caliper. I'm going to take them out and paint them with some 1500 degree flat black paint I have around here somewhere. During break-in they put out more dust than stock.
---
What I do like about them is now that they are broken in they dust much less than during break-in and somewhat less than stock. The bite is something else. I hardly need to touch the pedal to stop normally. I recently had the pleasure of doing a 'panic' stop on the highway at 65mph. The guy in front of me locked 'em up to avoid hitting a plastic soda bottle Without thinking I hit the pedal hard and my eyeballs nearly came out of their sockets.
---
Except for the green color this has been an inexpensive and great upgrade for daily driving. IMHO.

I'm wondering if other's have had similar experiences.
I installed them on my 2000 hardtop about 2 years ago and have been very impressed with them. I have Hawk HPS's on my '73 Corvette and my Miata and like them for their bite, but I believe they dust more than the EBC's. I will definitely use the EBC Greens again...
When folks comment to me about the green pads, I just tell them they're green because they're "environmentally friendly" ... at least that's what I tell all the "greens" from Washington Township we used to beat when I played ball for Kingsway.... many years ago...

Thanks for the feedback. One of the problems with NJ is there are at least 4 Washington Townships that I know of, maybe more. The Washington Township I live in is near Paramus in Bergen County. It's a nice little town with lot's of big green trees, and at least 5 or 6 C5's that I know of.
Wish I could say I had the same experience. Mine dusted minimally, but the dust was toxic or something. It destroyed the clearcoat on my wheels, permanently staining them. As if this wasn't a good enough reason to get rid of them, I felt they did not stop as good as stockers.
I run Porterfield R4S pads now and they are fantastic.
The EBC "Yellow" are the High Performance Track Pads (good for street too). I use them on my Celica GT at the track, but not sure I would use them on my C5 under hard and frequent braking given the higher weight and speed beyond daily driving, e.g., track road courses (HPDE). Great brake pads!

Touché... the Washington Township I was referring to is in Gloucester County... they may be a bit more "Green"... than in Bergen County...
I've been using EBC Greenstuff Pads on all my cars since about 2002. I swear by them. The vette is starting to show signs of rotor warpage........guess what I'll be upgrading to in terms of pads?
Id like to try them out are they safe for non clear coated rims like ccw's?
I am using them on chromed Z06 Speedlines that I have Zaino'd, and BLACKTOP2000 is using them on chromed Z06 replicas. We put them on at the same time about 3 months ago. We have not seen any negative effects as dope described above. However, our wheels are not clear coated. I'm also wondering if what dope had trouble with is the break-in coating that EBC applies to the pads to bed the rotors coming off.
