I am interested in lowering my car to its maximum without cutting the bushings. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I have to tighten the front leaf spring nuts by turning them counter clockwise (reverse thread,) and turning the rear nuts out untill 2 threads from the top are exposed on the screws. Please tell me if I have the right idea. BTW do I have to take the front wheels off to get to the screws? The car will be up on a jack. I thank everyone for their expert help. :flag

Re: Yet another lowering question??? (Raysvette)
Like he mentioend above, check out the tech tips... There's a good step-by-step version there. I managed to get 5/8" all the way around by doing exactly what you want to do- no cuts.
The front bolts are reverse threaded, the rears are normal threads (don't ask how I discovered that the rear was normal thread...). piece of cake- took about an hour including measurements and all. You don't need to take the wheels off, just jack 'er up.
The front bolts are NOT reverse threaded. Since they are being turned from the back side (the control arms act like the nuts), when they are turned counterclockwise, the bolts are threaded into the control arms. These bolts are easier to turn if the spring is raised slightly with a jack.
