MPH shouldn't fluctuate that much. I've raced different tracks, different conditions, different tire pressure, ect ect and although my ET would change from track to track the MPH was always the same(changes of 1-2 MPH based on weather). Tricks can be played with a dyno, not a track. Thats why people say the track is where it shows. Trapping 112 MPH with a cam and tune isn't right. I did that with headers and stinger intake alone. With his mods he should be faster.

Not much of a bigger cam than a Z06 cam--It took GM a bigger cam--a set of better heads---a better manifold--better exhaust-- to make a ls1 produce 50 more HP in order to become a LS6--I would guess the Hot Cam alone would only net you maybe 20 more RWHP--I would be surprised if there is much more than a tenth there- in the 1/4 in equal weather-

Hey man!
Most of us go too small on our first cam, we just end up going that way. My first cam was perfect for FI, but I liked the cam sooooo much, we stayed NA and went with as big a cam we could squeeze in under the heads.

The hot cam is not realy huge and I am not sure how much gain it will give you over a stock cam, plus, what are your other mods? Headers??? That would help a ton IMO.

Do not get down man, esp with RWHP vs track times. Make some passes and keep having fun. I added 60 RWHP, gears, and lots more and my gains are .1 Yea, short times have dropped from 1.59 to 1.460, and the BIGGEST mod is under way, the driver mod.

Good luck and hang in there man, make passes and enjoy your car and it will get quicker with seat time
Dave
PS ETs are nice, and God knows I want one, but, it is about having fun, and not having to get a tow or a push on the trailer.

I have MTI R1 232 236 .575 .578 114 cam . I gained 50RWHP with just cam , but I had headers before .I am right at 388 RWHP and traction is a problem , I wish I had gone bigger......

I see you have headers, but you are running a 1999. If you still have the stock intake manifold ypou could pick up a bunch of HP by putting an LS6 manifold on. Since you have the headers I'll bet you'd pick up at least 10-15 more rwhp. The LS1 manifold is much more restrictive than the LS6 and you need to give the bigger cam more air to breathe better.
