Default Stuck on 69* WTF ??

Hey guys,

My A/C control unit always reads 69* no matter if its hot, cold, raining, snowing or whatever. It is practically a brand new unit. Does anyone know what might be wrong ?

Chris

Yep,Passenger side front. Little probe ythat sticks out frame in between bumper and spoiler you need to jack it up to see it good. Just plug and play, about a 7 dollar part........... you can order from fred bean for that or try your local dealer, it ill be about 10 bucks there....

You can pull the connector mount out of the frame from above by raising the hood. There's enough slack to pull it up and disconnect and plug in a new one. Not expensive, easy change. Check to make sure it's not a broken or loose wire before you buy a new sensor.

Same problem for me. Must have forgot to plug it back in or broke it during the Vararam install last week.

Thanks for the picture. Missed plugging mine back in after a vararam install and this saved me a lot of time. Looked right where the picture showed and had it plugged back in in less than 1 minute

I started having a similar problem a few weeks ago. Sometimes the temp reads correctly, sometimes it drops down to 60 and stays there.

I'll check the sensor and replace if needed.

Yea, I ripped mine off after switching from a vararam to a haltech tric... you can get the new sensor, with the wires at your local chebby dealer. Only takes a few minutes to stick in there. Git er done

Yep mine stopped working after the vararam install as well. Seems to happen often. maybe a new sensor should be included with the vararam. When I bought a new one from the dealer ($14) I noticed my old one was rusty on the connections. Put the new one in anyways and all is good. Just wondering if cleaning the connectors on the old one would make it work.

Temps it gets stuck on are 69 (yeah i'm sure a engineer joke) 56 i believe when it does not see the sensor and -38. That was the temp mine was stuck on.

Some default temps when the sensor does not work
