Get a chance to hot-lap at the drag strip? Hate paying that horsepower penalty when the coolant temp soars? There is a work-around short of a fan switch or tuning the PCM.
All it take is a 6 inch piece of wire and a couple minutes to do the set up the first time. After that about two minutes each time you go to the track. Helpful in the summertime too; keeps the engine temps in the range for good power.
I put up a page at my site with a how-to for turning on the fans without tuning or a switch.
Not without more extensive wiring that I wanted to do.
With the low-speed fans on, I never saw a coolant temp above 195 even on four passes four minutes apart. Most I ever did literally back-to-back at a rental.
WOW,,,you could even solder a small switch in the jumper, velcro it to the relay and just leave the wire in place and flick the switch when you want the fan to come on!

Thats what I was thinkinking also. Great tip for the fans btw
thanks ranger, i did this mod tonight. My car was running hot with the d1sc. i was seeing 230 all the time almost in this 90deg heat in md. i wired an interupter switch, so i can just flip a swith and the fans stays on till i turn it off. kevin
