Your thoughts on new engine build-up
Desired Requirements:
Daily driver. Durability and reliability. I consider the c5 a sports touring car and desire for it to act as such; +420 RWHP.
Is a 346 LS1 based is going to be too hard to achieve my desired specs. Maybe build a torque engine, 400+ cubic inch, keep the 3.15 (little drag strip action), but 20 mile per hour roll ons as a killer! Maybe a slightly looser torque converter (2000-2400 rpm) stronger and performance.
Block – LSX or L92, Heads L92, intake L76, Long tube headers (LG or GHL), cam ??? (only guesses at this time), dual valve springs(durability and some safety factor)?, pinned crank, double roller timing chain, oil pump, underdrive pulley, ??? spark plug wires, 90 – 100 mm throttle body??, h-beam rods.
I do not know of any good tuners in Honolulu(are there?) I could install it in the car, advertise tuning in Honolulu for a few days, fly the tuner over, tune a few cars and vacation some?
What do you think,
