Okay, car runs great and is look'in pretty good now! So any ideas for a performance mod, not sound or cosmectic. $1500 max since i could get a 3.90 rearend installed for a super cheap thrill since I have 3.42 and the mn6. ! item or several within that dollar amount. Is it possible?
CARB puts a crimp in what you can do even with no money limit. That said, I think you already identified the one mod that will give the most SOP effect for your budget - 3.90 rear end. Depending on the next $3000 or so you want to spend and still pass the sniff/computer check, the MN12 tranny with 2.66 (is that right?) first gear with the 3.90 will give you a combination that is hard to hook up if you mash the loud pedal too hard and side step the clutch. It will also be a major surprise to onlookers at the occasional stop light gran prix.
One of my first mod was the 4.10 rear. Now that I have over 440 HP at the wheels, the first 2 gears are useless (everybody tells me to get better tires) so I'm changing to M12/3.42's. That really is 3.90 with MN6.
If I had to do it over again, I would still do 4.10! Best SOTP mod IMHO.
