This has happened probably 2 of the past 4 times that I've shut the car off. It's a buzzing type sound that lasts maybe 5-6 seconds when I turn the car off, and it sounds like it's coming from the back right of the engine just beyond where the passenger's legs would be, but I couldn't swear to it. Other than that the car hasn't done anything out of the ordinary, and I haven't had any other problems with it. Any ideas as to what it could possibly be? Thanks in advance.

does it do it when you rev the exhaust? My exhaust would buzz when I got my car, and I removed the exhaust and found that there is a metal bracket above the catalytic converters that broke off, I welded it back on and no more rattle/buzz from the exhaust.
Something like that, or does it sound like it could be an electrical noise?
I would pull the passengers foot well toe board out and when you shut doen the car listen to the relays in that area. The BCM, Theft Deterrent Relay and the Column Lock relays are all in that area. I can hear the relay click in that area on my 02. Thats most likely what yopur hearing. If there buzzing, there may be an issue. Narrow down the noise to a componet and I would also check your DTC's to see if theres a DTC set in the DIC.
Here is a link on how to read your codes:
This is the absolute best C5 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) web site!!!
Go to “technical data base” and then to “Corvette ECM Computer Codes”. Then select your year car. Read the instructions and then scroll down to the "READ MORE" window to view the code definitions.\
The closest thing I could describe the noise to is when you first turn on an air compressor (like a smaller one you'd keep in your garage). It's not quite that loud, but it's that type of noise. Kind of reminds me of a sound I used to get on my Chevelle when a component of the power door lock broke, which prevented the motor from moving the button. The motor would still try, but because this other component broke (I assume that's why) all you'd hear is like a grind/buzz noise.
Good news (sort of). Got an update. I've determined that this buzzing noise comes immediately after the headlights retract, and lasts for a few seconds. It even makes the noise when the car is still running. For instance, the lights will turn on automatically because the car is in the garage, then they will retract once I pull it out into the sun, and immediately after they do I'll get the loud buzz for a few seconds. That might help in terms of narrowing down what the problem might be. Thanks.

I got a similar buzzing noise from the same area, when I would shut down and hit the door lock button when exiting...just days before my battery went dead. Turned out my 10 month old Red Top Optima battery wasn't holding a charge. (replaced no charge by Advance Auto)...and, when tested there was less than 1 ma current drain on it with everything off.
Took my car in and apparently it was the headlight motor. And from what I've read the problem specifically was that the plastic gear was worn down. Might've been able to just switch out the gear with a brass one, but they suggested swapping the entire motor, and I didn't really feel like hassling with it so that was that. $400+ later and now my fingers are crossed that the other headlight motor doesn't go next.
