Default Deceleration noise

Guys,
I have had my Corsa Pace exhaust for a few years now, paired with TPIS headers and Random Tech super flow cats and X-pipe. The X-pipe got rid of the crackling and popping. For some reason, recently the exhaust started to have excessive crackling almost like backfire when I left off gas, however, the car runs great. What could have changed or causing this?

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Marc

That is the best part of the combo. I also have TPIS Lts, Random tech high flow cats and x -pipe

What that pop-n-gurgle is unburnt fuel going though as you let off the gas. It ignites in the header x-pipe region. No way to get rid of it, but slow down sooner . Personally I think that is true mucle car sound :

ppl forget that LTs and higher flow exhuast will cause the noise to be louder and the resonece to get very loud

Hmmm, I wonder why it started all of a sudden then. Perhaps related to the batch of gas?

It has nothing to do with a batch of fuel.

If you let off the throttle quickly, they will be some unburnt fuel that goes out the exhaust ports.

This unburnt fuel is what ignites in the Headers, x-pipe area causing he pop-n-gurgle sound

I was am switching from my titaniums to borla stingers so I can hear the popping again. Those TIs are so good you can barely hear the pop.

I've always heard that popping can be caused by the car running too lean on decel, or exhaust leaks.

Since it just started doing it all of a sudden I would look for leaks, particularly around the primaries. If you can't hear any obvious leaks, I would visually inspect the entire exhaust for black soot where there's any kind of connection.

It could also be attributed to a stuck or leaking air check valve on the exhaust. If these are stuck open or closed, it can mess with fuel mixture, codes from your O2 sensors like low voltage codes etc. Just my $.02 worth.
