Default Question for you...

I have had my C5 for about a year now and I just switched from runflats to regular tires...

The car quieted-down alot and a much softer ride. However, now with less noise from the runflats, I noticed that when I am slightly turning right (like on a curve or something) I get a sound from the front (possibly suspension, sway bar, etc.)

Not really sure what it is, but it sounds abnormal and only does it when curving towards the right, never left. It's hard to explain the sound, but its a rough sound.

Today I checked the bushings on the sway bars and everything seemed okay. Looking at the runflats, it was wearing the right-side uneven (more worn on the inside, than outside of tire). Could this be an alignment issue, the sound?

Or would it not being aligned properly not cause any noises? I plan on getting it aligned soon, but after dishing-out $800.00 for tires, I'm gonna have to wait awhile.

Another quick-question on the side, do these cars require a four-wheel alignment? Or just the front? I was told by a Firestone mechanic that just the front, but I think I've seen otherwise on CF.

Thanks in advance!

They MUST have a 4 wheel alignment, if your Firestone guy didn't know that then you'd better find someone else to work on your alignment. I understand that wearing out the inside of the fronts first is pretty normal, mine is doing that too. Search for 'alignment' and you'll see it mentioned several times. There are some special alignment specs (non-factory) that are supposed to help with this problem. The search should help you find those...

Thanks! I'll have to see about getting it aligned, since I know it needs it anyways...

I just hope that the alignment takes car of the sound/suspension issue at once. I hate to have to pay even more to fix a seperate issue...

Post up if anyone else has other ideas. Again, thanks!

i really doubt the alignment will take care of a noise but before they perform the align they will check the front end and maybe something will be found.

I'm curious, did you notice a decrease in your gas mileage? They say that non-runflats get less mpg than runflats. Some members have noticed a 3 mpg decrease. Have you checked your mileage since your tire change?
