Try puting key in the ignition and turning to the accessory position, hold down brake pedal and try shifting out of park to neutral.
There is a cable that runs from the ignition switch to the shifter that locks it in place, this procedure will verify that this is working correctly.

Well I researched all the threads and saw one where a poster said to push the shifter to the right and it would unlock the pin,Dang sure did!!! I always appreciate all the great input from you folks.Even when your post doesnt help the one asking, it may help many others at other times. Thanks to all , AGAIN.
