Default dead pedal

Would one of you technical wizzards (and I know there are many on the Forum) please tell me what the "dead pedal" feature is that was introduced on the C5's. I'm obviously not an automotive giant. Thanks in advance for making me a bit more informed.

It does not do anything. It's there to rest your left foot.

It's NOT a technical advancement at all - rather, it is a place on the left of the drivers side floorboard where you can rest your left foot.

I'm glad it isn't, especially for a manual shift. I was always hitting mine in the 69' when I shifted.
