Default TECHRON use

Anyone out there know how often you can use the 20 oz bottle of Techron-like every other tank-full. Also does it cause any type of a chemical reaction if left in the tank over a month. I've sent the questions to Chevron but no reply as of yet.
Thanks,
Sonny

I use a bottle once per season and have never had a fuel gauge issue........don't know if using more often would harm anything or be of any more benefit.

I won't bore you with my gauge/shiphon pump ongoing problem but as a last ditch effort to avoid replacing the sensors, I double dosed a tankful of Shell 93 octane. That was two tankfuls ago and both the gauge and shiphon pump are working.

I plan to use a 12oz bottle every other tankful in the future.

Make sure you get the Techron PLUS. It has a specific additive to clean sulpher deposits from fuel level sending units, which is the exact issue that causes erratic fuel gauges in our cars.

I normally run a bottle through w/ each oil change. Up unitl May I'd been using the standard Techron. Then, on the way to Cruise-In my fuel gauge went truly nuts. It would read 1/2 tank when the tank was full and vary between reading correctly and below 1/2 tank then to empty w/ a CEL then back.

When i got home I got the new techron per a recomendation on here as a last ditch effort before replacing the sending units. I used 2 bottles in one tank, then one bottle in the next and it cured the issues.

I will now use Techron Plus.

You can use a bottle in every tank without damage, I just do not know exactly why you would want too. Everyother is good.

I use one in each of the two fillups just before my oil change. It really turns my oil dark. Anyone else have this happen?

I use only Chevron 93 and now Texaco, since both have Techron blended in and have never had a guage problem.
