Difference between T1 & FRC
by GM Motorsports. I think it's just springs, sway bars and bar
endlinks, but they are pricey. Add a roll cage and fire suppression
system, and you're legal to compete in T1 (Touring 1) racing with
SCCA.
The package can be added to any C5 Corvette, but the FRC and
Z06 are the most popular platform due to their lighter weight and
stiffer chassis.
There is also T2 ( Touring 2) and now ST or Super Touring. ( not to be confused with NASA 'sSuper Touring classes)
The after markert suspension made by GM Performance Division is called the T1 suspension and for use in the Show Room Stock Class T1.
Parts could not be added to this race class unless these parts had OEM manufacture parts numbers.
The corvette needed a stiffer suspension for road racing, so the new suspension was made with GM part numbers.
The T1 suspension has the sway bars, end links, springs and shocks. In addition T1 A-arms are also made. These have the harder bushings.
This suspension has evolved over the years to be come stiffer. And now with the adjustable sway bars for the C6.
