has anybody with a c5 with the selective ride option change shocks, i am trying to put zo6 shocks on and (a mechanic is doing the work) and he is telling me he cant do it without my traction control and active handling not working , can someone help thanks!
He's wrong. You can buy the F55 suspension emulators to "trick" the car into thinking your non-magnetic shocks are still there. I don't know exactly where to find these, I read Mid-America. But I couldn't find them when I searched for you. They should be there though.
You will need to either visit the dealer or find someone with a GM TECH II.. They can program it out of the BCM. It has to be programmed out and only a TECH II can do it OR like was previously stated, get SIMs. F-45 and F-55 are GM options. ALL options can be added to or removed from the BCM! If a dealer says it cant, keep looking until you find one that knows what they are doing!
Just for knowledge sake, if you own a ZO6, you can add the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) sensors to your car and activate that feature using the Tech II You can also remove the TPM sensors from all 2001+ cars. (don't know why you would want to loose that function?)
