I did a search and was unable to come up with any information on the throttle body coolant bypass mod..
Anyone have 2 cents for me on this one?? Why shouldn't I do it or why should I? Already jumped the gun and bought the pieces needed, just wanted to see what everyone else thinks about this.

From what i've read --its pupose is to run hot or heated coolant thru the bottom of the Throttle body to prevent it from icing up in cold /snowy climates--Not much use for it in most ares in Calif.--HP gain is minimal with it by-passed anyway---If you are in Lake Tahoe--I would think twice about the bypass in the dead of winter---
I have it on my 02 ZO6 and see zero ill effects! The C6 doesnt have one from the factory and no ill effects there either. Does it add HP? Who knows. The TB is cooler and thats one less thing to leak!
Install it. If you dont like it, (dont know why you wouldnt) put it back to stock.

Cool, since it lives in California for the winter the next time i'm feeling down or bored I will install it...Just for that feeling of accomplishment on the WOT mod

I know one thing I like about mine. When/if I need to remove my intake manifold I don't have to touch the cooling system at all.
If I lived in a colder climate, I'd probably leave it stock.
I did this mod on my '98. I can't tell you if it made any difference improvement-wise. However, living in New Jersey with cold winters, I never had any ill effects having done it. I planned to do this on my present Z but haven't gotten around to it.
it seems like people for some reason will do this just to say theyve done something to the car,I stopped with these useless mods& did heads ,cam, headers,etc...,things that definitely arent a waste of time, granted some people here dont want to venture beyond theyre mechanical skills& stop at that,if you read the catalogs from ecklers, zips, mid america, theyll have you beleiving all that little junk they sell will make a bunch of differance ,some of the board guys that been around for a while get a kick outta this type of stuff that gets brought up from time to time,do yourself a favor & call the pros & get theyre answer on these things before you waste your time & money..
Well I hardly consider $3.25 at the hardware store and 10 min. a waste of time/ money...Just my opinion on that note, considering I already came out of pocket and installed. Not here to argue just ask opinions. If it bothers anyone I presume they wont waste their time reading my useless posts...Bragging about a coolant bypass just sounds ridiculous if you ask me.

Exactly why I did it, convenience of disassembly. Of course now the FAST 90 does have anywhere to connect it anyhow.
Whatever happened with the poor guy that did the bypass incorrectly a few months ago and connected the coolant hose to the PCV hose? That sure could have been an expensive, "worthless" mod.
