Default Full/ Street Slicks

Hay Guys,

I had i question for a while now and i couldn't find an answer till now.

what is the solution for the full slicks that brake with the full slicks, one of my friends has a 2006 ZO6 with street slicks and we went to the track to try'em out he reved the car to 4000 RPM and launched the car, the axles the broke immediately.

i asked my mechanic and he told me that almost all corvettes that have installed either full or street slicks"Drag Radials" have problems with the Axel heads. they always brake.

any solutions for me out there... i want to try out the BFG's but I'm worried about that issue..

If your going to PLAY,,,unfortunately,,,your going to have to PAY!

C5 and even C6 have issues with wheel hop. If you have uncontrolled wheel hop, and continue to allow it to occur, your going to break parts in the drive train. Even if you control wheel hop, high HP and better traction stresses the C5 and or C6 drive train and things break!

The first things to go are the diff output shafts. Yes they make hardened output shafts that will eliminate that issue. Once that is eliminated, the Diff case will most likely split. DTE makes a special brace to help eliminate that issue. (DTE BRACE) Then the tranny out put shaft will break. Starting with the Diff output shafts, as you go UP in HP/TQ, you will need to get STRONGER in the other things listed.

Call Phil at DTE and he will educate you in Tranny and Differential weaknesses and all the improvements to bullet proof them. There one of the best Corvette Differential improvement business out there! Transmissions are improved by Rodney @ RPM Transmissions. Between Rodney and Phill, you will be able to run with the best of them!!

Usually cars pushing over 400hp have that problem. I believe the left side is the weakest. If you check out DTE they sell C6 shafts that are stronger or hardened shafts if you have more serious power. The shafts are the weak link in our independent rear suspension. The shafts run about $300-400. Theyre a must with stickies.
