can someone explain the differences in suspensions
Im new to the corvette world and am wondering what the differences between the suspensions on a C5? Mine is a 97 and has 3 settings for the ride control.

You have the F45 suspension - Real Time Damping.
Other suspension packages (depending on Model Year) are:
FE1 - the "base" suspension package
FE3 - the "sport" suspension package
Z51 - the "sport" suspension package (adds Power steering cooler over FE3)
FE4 - the Z06 suspension package
F55 - MSRC - Magnetic Suspension Ride Control (only on 2004 and later vehicles)

More on your F45 suspension ....
You have 3 modes, TOUR, SPORT and PERFORMANCE.
Read your Owner's Manual, but in a very short form .....
TOUR gives you the "softest" suspension. Good for long trips on a highway where you don't want the car to "rattle your teeth" every time you hit a pothole.
SPORT gives you a "stiffer" suspension, but only over (IIRC) 35 MPH than the TOUR mode. Below 35 you can't feel a difference.
PERFORMANCE gives you the "stiffest" suspension, but again it is based on road speed.
If you are doing 25 MPH down a road you really won't feel a difference in the settings, but at 70 MPH you should notice a significant difference between the different modes.
