i have the 1243 code and after clearing it and hitting the brakes to activate the abs 3 or 4 times the code will not reset. I was not able to make abs activate enough to excercise the bmpv. Now that its raining i want to try it, i think it will clear up, the abs did work a little when i did it the other night. I just wasnt agressive enough in the dry. Would disconecting the battery work or do i need a scan tool or something to clear it.
Your BPMV motor has stalled...if the BPMV is working now & abs is functional, you can erase the code if it is now a History code....
The computer will show two kinds of codes, "current" and "history," designated "C" or "H". A current code indicates a malfunction is present in the system whose module is displaying data. A history code indicates a past problem. When the screen displays "manual diagnostics," select the desired module by pressing the "options" button to go forward or the "trip" button to go back. Press "gages" to go forward or "fuel" to go back. To exit the diagnostic mode at any time, press "E/M".
If you want to erase or "clear" codes, press "reset."
I would bleed the brake lines. I had the same code and that cleared it for me. You will need a scanner to clear the code. If you bleed the brakes, start with the passenger side rear, driver’s side rear, passenger side front, and the driver’s side front in that order.
