Default DRM 450 "Top end"

Howdy folks,

Martin from Stockholm, Sweden!

Had my 2000 C5 FRC for one summer now and since all of my Viper-friends keep giving me and the Vette a hard time, I´m thinking of upgrading the engine, throwing all death-weight out of the car, getting some oil-overs, basically turning it into a trackday-racer.

I´ve been surfing the net and checking out diffrent engine tuners over in America. DRM has a package that is looking mighty intresting:
the 450 "top end"
CNC Ported cylinder heads
Performance valve springs
Titanium spring retainers
Chrome Moly pushrods
DRM hydraulic roller camshaft
Donaldson Blackwing Air Filter
B&B Route 66 Exhaust System
Ceramic Coated Longtube Headers

What do say you about this set-up?
All advice will be considered, you know these cars better than I do....

Hey Martin,
Thanks for your interest in our package. If you are looking for a tame, easy driving, safe package, you will have a hard time finding a better full package. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Randy
PS Do you have tail pipe testing over there???

Martin -

Compared to you, DRM is in my backyard, or as close as they can get for me stuck out in the middle of nowhere

DRM WILL treat you right, they know their stuff, have a great shop, friendly, excellent customer service . . .

Don't be afraid to go w/ their package, or to give them a call - they'll line you up w/ what you need

Hey Martin,
The hardest part of the whole process is the tuning. We can get you really close. But passing the test will require more computer work.

Have you considered a blower? I've seen some blowers that put out 150 more horsepower and there are few engine mods. The kind I was thinking of looked like a turbo charger, but was belt driven. The setup took about a day to install by a competent mechanic I believe. I wish I could remember the name of the company that makes them, but it's getting late and I'm going brain dead..time to go to bed. Ahhh the name was Procharger.

Lots of centrifigal SC systems out there. A&A and ECS probably have the two best systems.

Mainly because you are at a disadvantage (distance wise) and also not knowing the particular emission standards they have in Sweden.

Martin: See if you can obtain the emission standards used in Sweden and it help greatly in the tuning process. Once tuned properly, you should be OK with emission testing plus have a lot more power to help you with your Viper buddies.

Robert

I know Anders could help on the tuning side of things. He is out of Jarfalla. Heinz in Switerland, Peter Meyer in Germany, Ole in Norway, Doug is going to Italy, there is a couple other people too but they are too far away.

DRM gets my vote! Had the 450 top end package on my car for many miles with no issues and good power. The only thing I need is a DRM sticker to replace mine , I was rear ended and they ruined my sticker
