You can use a K&N filter cleaning kit. If you don't have enough cleaning solution, diluted SIMPLE GREEN is fine for cleaning. Put some in a spray bottle and spray generously over the outside of the filter. Then run a steady stream of water over the pleats. I like to direct the water from the inside to help flow the dirt to the outside.
Air dry over night after cleaning. Sparingly apply oil to the dry pleats and allow it to wick through the filter. Again, allow this to happen over night if possible so you can see any places that might need a little touch up.
Don't over oil or you may contaminate the MAF wires.
