Maybe it is better then to pay someone to tune it for you? I have also read stories on here about people getting their cars tuned wrong which trashed their motor?
How much do reputable shops normally charge to do a tune for you?
On average id say Reputable shops charge between 300-500 for a tune, the more complex your set-up becomes, the more its gonna cost for a tune.
A tune can ruin your motor, get some references for a good tuner in your area
Just my .25 for Tachitup motorsports. Those guys ran with our NVCC Spooktacular at Summit Point earlier in the month. They were GREAT people and VERY helpful.
During a run, I triggered a check engine light. The fellas were very helpful and even hooked their TECH II up to monitor things. Honestlly, they saved me the weekend, explained what was happening to me and I was able to fix it when I got home. These guys rock. I know that from what they were driving they are certainly well qualified to tune your C5. Their cars were amazing.

Gonna brag about a "good" pump gas tune. It is way more than finding a few more HP otr TQ's. It's about checking out YOUR engine. I just installed lt headers w/ HF's and cats and had it tuned afterwards. The tuner, Jim @ SW Tuning in OKC, didn't like the results and decided after breaking her down that my car was carboned up. He didn't know going in that my car was a short trip city vette from the 1st owner, but by looking at his results he knew something was not quite right. He Seafoamed her and retuned her, plus before He even started he had determined that someone had "Handheld" advanced the timing. MAN, the car is now ALIVE with only a net gain of 15 RWHP and 21 RWTQ. The throttle response is WAY better.
THE TUNE IS THE DIFFERENCE between just headers and a healther car!
I'm starting to see that with each little mod, there are issues to be worked out. I definitely want to get the car running as healthy as possible, otherwise the modification is a waste of money. The thing about it is that everyone you talk to says something differentFor example, one shop tells me that new ignition wires are not required for coated headers, another says they should be replaced. I have new plugs and wire so this does not become an issue. The next thing is finding a tuner you can trust. It is much easier to find installers than tuners. By the way, I know Dale of Tachitup and he seems like a good guy but I don't think he does his own tuning.

Sorry Tim I didnt know you were looking for a tune right now. We can do any tune supported by EFI live or HP Tuner. You car would be no problem at all. $400 for a dyno tune $200 for a "street" tune. The only reason I did not suggest it now is that if you are going to do a gear swap I would kill two birds with one stone.
Thanks, Dale
