Default Magnaflow cat back

Well I got a C5 a few months ago , I had just put a Hooker cat back on it and a few days after some idiot rear ends me, so I get the car to the shop and they replace the rear end and bring the car to a performance shop for the cat back. The shop says they cant fix the one thats on the car and reccommend that it should be replaced with a Magnaflow http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...merican&id=274 I look that part up and Im like wow thats a serious upgrade!!
I really liked the sound of the Hooker system I know the Magnaflow looks alot better, what is you guys opinion on performance and sound for this new part that will be installed on my car now?
And yes the insurance is covering the cost completely.

I have the Magnaflow and am very happy with it. Polished stainless and deep, not loud, tone. That price from the link you provided can be bettered by $300-$400, as I am sure you know...

The insurance is covering it 100% so I am only worried about the sound. Deep low sound is good for me I dont want a loud car just one that sounds sweet when you get on the gas.

Hooker system $366.00 on Web site. Why not replace with Hooker system since you liked it and use the rest of $s for other mods.

I have the Hooker system on my 2002. Its a little too quiet for me. Louder than stock, and growls at near full throttle. Very little interior resonance. I suspect that many vette owners would like them, to get just a little more sound than the wimpy stock. However, I may eventually replace them with BB or Corsa- they definitely roar at throttle..

Did you replace your stock "X-Pipe" - if not I'd go with the Full MagnaFlow System. I've had mine on for about 2 yrs now and I like it a lot! Full Stainless Steel system - and it looks great from the rear!

The Magnaflow system looks and sounds awesome...any way for insurance to do the X-pipe as well? It is an entire system, anyway.

The thing I love about it is the billet plate that ties the left and right exhausts together in the back, perfectly aligning them. Most aftermarkets don't have this, and are tough to line up perfectly. Seen plenty of Corsas and Borlas that are just a little off-kilter.

I, however, have a receiver hitch installed, so I opted for the Z06 Ti exhaust, which is perfect for what I want. Good luck.

For the insurance company to replace a 400.00 system with a 1200.00 dollar one was enough for me lol, I dont want to push it too much, I will buy the X pipe later, it does look sweet and give about 3 rwhp again mostly going for the sound and look , when I get enough cash saved ill be going headers and supercharger, Im in California so everything has to be smog legal.

the same magnaflows came on my car and i LOVE them. nice little throaty noise but quiet. just what i wanted and lucky for me, already installed. I enjoy loud exhaust about 40% of the time, but on my DD I'm glad they aren't overpowering my music on the highway. Little blip of the gas still lets anyone nearby know there is an LS1 around, but not the people 3 blocks over like some I've heard.

You'll like the Magnaflow. It looks great and sounds great. Get the x-pipe later.
