Doesn't the torque tube have a rubber coupler? I seem to remember a post of someone shearing it.

Just a thought

If you only broke the shaft you are lucky, my guess is driver's output shaft. DTE has a very strong warning against wheel hop in their warranty information. It you are going to race the car, you need to address the wheel hop as well.

Wow, that's uncommon. So is the left output shaft already hardened? If you are going to drag race the car, you need to have hardened output shafts in the differential....period. I just watched a guy in a new C6 this weekend blow his rear end at the strip. If your left output shaft is not hardened, it will happen again. It's only a matter of time.

I am not sure if it is or not...I took the Diff out and dropped it off at the shop and he said he was going to give me a call once he got it all apart...I hope it is so I only have to by one

I'm not familiar with the rubber coupler. Where is it located? Were you able to find the post you mentioned?

Thanks,
