I have a 99 Coupe, automatic, with 43K miles. I am trying to find how often you need to change the fuel filter. I couldn't find it in the owners manual, the dealer says it needs to be changed. I have seen different periods listed. The GM Dealer quoted me a price of $75.00 for the filter. Does this sound right. How often have you changed yours? Thanks

Reason: up date information
Well, I wonder where people come up with the time period. The service manual states that there is no service interval for the fuel filter, and should only be replaced if it is restricted. Which sounds silly to me. I bought both of my c5's used, and the first thing I did was change the air and fuel filter, and the oil. Little bit of work for piece of mind.

Do you have auto or 6sp. 6sp easier. the filter should be behind exhaust in middle of car and that is usually why some people don't change it as often, because of location. Every year or so is good, depending on how much you drive.

Not sure what year you're talking about, but my 99 is to the left of the drivers side cat back, not in the middle of the car.
