OK the choice is down to LG Pro or Kooks. which is the choice of the all knowing ones? Why? Is noise increase the same for both over my current GHL cat backs?

If you are going to spend the money on LG's I'd get American Racing Headers. Install is WAYYYYYYYY easier and they are made in the USA.
I wanted LG Pro's myself but found the American Racing Headers to be a little cheaper (more $$ than Kooks though) and upon a ton of research actually found out that AR Headers and LG's are equally respected.

Kooks in my opinion have way to much rasp.

Last I knew, LG's were made by Borla here in the US and Kooks is made in NY. Personally, with no mods other than headers, I would select the LG's. The longer tube length is more conducive the RPM range that you are running.

I wasn't saying the others weren't made in USA, I just liked that the AR's were

I was assuming he could go to ls1howto.com or whatever that site it and install it himself, basically the point I was getting across was to save the money on the brand name headers and just buy the SSAC Long Tubes, same performance, you just wont get to say you have Kooks or LG, but you will have bout $1100 to spend on other mods.

We all have our favorite.
LG's
ARH
KOOKS
All 3 are excellent products, you cannot go wrong with any of the above.

I will probably be going with the SSAC headers soon. I've been researching for a while and have talked to a number of people with them. Seems everyone i've talked to that has them says they are just fine and apparently initial fitment/install issues are mostly taken care of.

From what I gather the bigger named headers might give you a few extra HP but for 3 times the price I can't justify it ... if I were racing my car all the time or something i'd probably go with a more trusted name but for a fun daily driver that I might track a bit in the future I think the SSACs will be fine.

I run the QTP's, the only all stainless Tri-Y header you can buy for the C5.

I'm purchasing the 1 3/4" Kooks from Lingenfelter and having them Jet-Hot coated as well. I was looking at Dynatech and LG's for the longest time though.
