Can anyone tell what might cause a front end shake at higher speeds(70 mph and up)? It's a 1998 coupe and the vibration is felt through the steering wheel. Felt the shake with the old tires and also the new ones we just put on aswell. The possibility of a bent rim crossed my mind but I think this would be felt at lower speeds. Any input on this to get me thinking straight would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys!
Still consider a bent rim. If it's a small bend it won't be easy to recognize at slow speeds because the energy it puts into the steering system is proportional to speed.
Could also be an alignment or suspension/steering issue, but I'd eliminate the wheels first. Your tire shop should be able to measure the runout of the wheel.
