Here's what I did. I made some little 1"X1" blocks of oak and then took an old inner tube and made some 1"X1" patches. Then I sandwich the robber against the banjo fitting, wood block on top and then a C-clamp to squeeze it together. Won't leak at all. For the car, you need 8 blocks and patches, plus four small clamps. I use them all the time when doing calipers on any of the cars to keep the system from draining down and air getting in.
