I recently put a RAM air intake on my 98 vette. A few days later my check engine light came on so like a good girl I went directly to AutoZone to find out why. It was the air intake sensor, so I replaced it. About a week later it happened again. I got another sensor which also lasted about a week. Do I need a different sensor since I changed the air intake? Please help. Thanks
I assume you are talking about the air intake temp sensor? On pre-2001 cars it sits in the air bridge?
If so, that is a very simple part, called a thermistor (a resistor that changes its value with temp difference).
My guess is the original wasn't defective; for some reason I've seen a lot of issues with the wiring to that connector, maybe it breaks due to engine vibrations.
Another possibility is the female pins in the connector have spread, causing a continuity issue.
