I did the dreaded Mishift when going into 4th last night at High RPM. While I immediately pushed the clutch in I belive I saved the engine from serious damage..
However.. The engine began to run very poorly, Sounded JUST like a subaru WRX.
Symptoms:
- Very Rough Idle-Stalls
- Shakes very badly untill 2500Rpm Then starts to completely smooth out
- High rpms Is still smooth and powerful.
-- Oil pressure Is good over 40psi at 2000 rpm
-- No leaks
--- Engine Does not overheat
I have replaced the pushrods... is 7.400 Stock length? Is this right?
The new pushrods helped allot, But Im beginning to think the valves are damaged
Yes, you might have kissed a valve. Real quick checks are compression check or pull the valve covers and measure how high the closed valves are if you don't have the tools to check compression. You will need to rotate the motor to check them all though since they must be closed to get any kind of accuracy. Compression check is a better more precise method.
