I am looking to spen about $4,500 on modification for my 2002 Z06.
I was thinking about getting a Callaway cold air intake and long tube headers and X pipe. The guy said I did not need to change my tail pipes or mufflers since they are made of titanium, he also said they would tune the car and put a heat shield plate along with heat resistent wires. What do you all think? I am trying to keep the car as close to stock as I can. Also does anyone know of a corvette shop in Maryland, I live in College Park.
I have one word for you: Gears ... and you will still have a couple of $K's left over. If you want to spend a little more, have someone like Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester do a tune for you. I am a complete convert in that nothing makes the car come to life like gears (at least in the $$ category you mentioned).
We designed all of our headers to work around a stock muffler system, or stock replacement. The stock C5 Z06 Ti system is a very good starting point as it is lightweight and does a good job on the cars until you get into the bigger HP setups.
Our LG Pro's, G5X series cam kit, and a cold air would pick up a solid 55 to 80rwhp and 50 to 70rwtq depending on which exact cam you would want to go with.
Let me know how I can help, we can put together a package that would be custom tailored to your car!
