Getting ready to do a clutch swap (along w/ some other goodies) in my 02 Z. It has just passed the 20K mark. What else (clutch related) should I change out while doing this? I assume pilot bearing, anything else?
With only 20K on the clock I'm thinking master/slave should be ok but thought I would get some opinions.
See I owned a bunch of mustangs before buying the vette(best decision ever) so all of these things are new to me. What the hell are the torque tube bushings?
Clutch
Master cylinder
Slave cylinder
Remove bleeder
Pilot bearing
New nuts for rear cradle (many don't replace, service manual calls for them)
Exhaust gaskets
If you are stock, likely new nuts/possibly studs for exhaust manifolds
Tranny jack, two is better
I used a laser level to aid re-installation.
Defintiely do the pilot bearing, slave cylinder and throw out bearing. Add a remote bleeder too. You can go either way on the master. It is easy to replace later. Don't worry about the torque tube bushings unless it is raced a lot. I also just reuse the cradle nuts and exhaust manifold bolts.
