Default Remote Start Install???

Is it difficult on an '04 C5? I have quite a bit overall experience but am hesitant with what appears to be a tough job. What do you think?
Thanks

I know it CAN be done.... but it's a helluva lot more complicated than on other cars. (a lot to do with the security system) the biggest obsticle I've heard of is that small black part of the key with the little piece of metal in it. This is supposedly a very specific valued resistor and is part of the security system.

If you manage to get it working, let me know. My mom's had rem start on every car before the vette but she wasn't nuts about the $400 install cost on the 98.

Installed my own Bulldog remote start in about 4 hours (inclucing all the options) with the ignition harness. Its not all that hard, just go step by step.
As far as the security key question, its the same as most any GM car with the same key structure, get the bypass box for 50 bucks and wire it in, not all that hard if you know a bit about spark chasing.

What model system did you use?

Yep; I've installed 7 Bulldog systems over the past couple of years (though not in my Corvette). But the Corvettes VATS sercurity pellet key is no different from others using the same (my wifes Monte Carlo had the same setup).

I'd recommend the Bulldog Deluxe 200 for remote start applications, and the Deluxe 500 for remote start and alarm capability.

if you go with a Bulldog unit, check to see if they have a "T-Harness" available for your Corvette. If they do, it really eases the installation.
