So I havent started my car in about a month annd a half or so and after about 10 seconds, the A/C comes on. ISo I hit the off button and in about 20 more seconds, the A/C comes right back on again. I dont understand, as this keeps happening. It stinks because i have a very large cam and idling when its cold is difficult enough, and whne you throw the A/C on top of it, its bad. Anyone experience this issue. Thanks guys....!!!
Take a look at what "MODE" you have selected. If it is in Defrost mode, or Defrost bi level, the AC will automatically come on. If it is below 32 degrees, the compressor will be locked out and wont come on even if you select the defrost modes. Take a look at that and change the mode selection to prevent it from happening.
If the memory setting is set on that mode, you will have to change the setting each time you start it. Change the mode, press your memory to remember a different setting.
I’ll go out on a limb here and say that most people don’t know that the air conditioning engages on virtually all modern day cars when the climate control is in any aspect of defrost mode. (Defrost, Bi-Level, Blend, etc.)
Something you probably didnt realize is the HVAC system will default to that mode if the battery is low and you try to start the car or has been removed. So,,if it keeps reverting back to that mode, you could have a low charged or even a bad battery.
If it was sitting for a while, the battery could have been low. You might want to have it checked out by load testing it.
