Default Sub.belt mounting options...

What options do we have to mount a submarine/crotch belt to the stock C5 seat mounts/bolts?
Thanks-Dominic

I'm looking for the same thing. I thought Hardbar or someone had a mount but I didn't see it on their site.

The purpose of the sub belt is to counteract the force of the shoulder harnesses on the lap belt so it needs to pull in the opposite direction of the shoulder harnesses. Whatever you do "Do not buy a sub belt bar that mounts the sub belt in front of the seat cushion" as that makes the sub belt pull the lap belt forward Vs down. You would be better off not having a sub belt as mounting it that way. Hardbar has a bar that mounts behind the seat and passes the sub belt between the seat back and seat bottom so you sit on the belt or Brey-Krause has a lap belt mount setup that uses the stock C5 belt mounting locations to mount both the lap belt and the sub belt with the sub belt passing under the legs so you sit on it similar to the Hardbar setup. Both of these setups make the sub belt pull in the opposite direction of the shoulder harnesses.

Here are some pics of the BK setup. If you cant find the BK used I would consider the Hardbar setup which is also very good.

Ok, I'm confused. From what Bill says, you actually sit on the crotch belt? I have the BK setup like Wicked Weasel above, but that is just for the lap belt attachments.

Can you PM me a link to the crotch bar you recommend if they are not a vendor?

You are saying don't use the front crotch bar like this one?

the BK system does both lap and sub on the same mount. That is why there are 2 slots.

I agree with Bill above. I just installed the BK mounts and bought 6 point harnesses. As noted in the above pics the BK mounts have two slots and you snap in (make sure you buy the snap clips and not the bolt in mounts for the lap and anti-submarine belt). And yes you sit on the anti-submarine belt. It was an easy installation and it is easy to install and remove the belts when I go autocrossing...
