Is there such a thing as headers (preferably long tube) that do not add to the INTERIOR noise level? Not concerned with outside noise level so much. Trying to get the interior as quiet as possible and add some modest performance (if possible).
I just added Corsa Touring Tiger Sharks and X-Pipe and they added NO INTERIOR noise yet.
I have the QTP Tri-Y's and when I first started them in the garage was amazed at how they sounded. Hard to describe, only word I can come up with is they sounded "cleaner".
From what I understand, the balanced exhaust pulses meet in the collecter. The pulses are what cause the increased volume. The only way to significantly decrease interior noise is with deadening and acoustic foam. (quite effective i might add)
who wants quiet headers ....your mufflers will take away alot of the sound since they have the noise cancelling technology in them, but still your car is going to be loud, the way fast cars should be

I think this is your best alternative to quiet headers.I know there are posts of C5's getting this treatment but I didn't feel like searching all day.I hope this one helps you.
You will hear the valve train noise more but its not an objectionable sound. The headers will also change the exhaust note but not necessarily make it louder. Get rid of your run flat tires if you want the cabin to be quieter - they are the biggest noise makers.
The only sound that headers will change from a interior listening standpoint is a slight increase in valve operation noise. I can also cause your current mufflers to increase in DB and change the characteristics of it tone.
I am running the TPI ceramic coated headers through my stock cats. I had almost no increase in cabin noise, likely due to the fact that the stock cats are still in place.

Yes, I already did the Dynomat/Ensolite treatment to the entire interior and inside the wheelwells, doors, everywhere about 15 months ago. I also switched to Michelin AS/ZPs and made special high-density sound absorbers in the rear compartments. Car is VERY quiet inside right now and I would like to keep it as close to the way it is now as is possible.
I realize that "performance" and "low noise" usually do not play together, but it seems like GM does a pretty good job at it from the factory all things considered. That is why I thought there may be something used on these new high-HP C6's that might increase performance and still be quieter than standard headers.
If I were going racing or just occassionally drove my car or if it were a second car - noise would not be an issue. In my case, I am just looking for modest gains.
