Installing rear differential
Hello. I am considering installing a 4.10 complete differential myself. Is there a good install thread available for this? I am a decent driveway mechanic. Any special tools needed or just the usual assortment of metric wrenches, sockets and the like? How much time will this take likely take (no lift). Tom

Service manual calls for new nuts on the rear cradle, few do this but being the **** person I am I used new nuts. I also changed the o-ring between the transmission and the differential to ensure a good seal. Lube up your left and right seal good with differential fluid prior to installing to prevent dry seals at start-up. If you allow the time, it is a good time to give the cradle a good cleaning and check the boots on the half shafts since they will be out of the car.
