Clutch problems..Help!?

Clutch problems..Help!?
A friends 99 fixed roof is having some troubles. When he goes to leave in reverse or any other gear as soon as he lets out on the clutch the car dies. I was told it did this repeatedly for about 5 mins. He turned it off called his wife to come pick him up and he went to start it and was able to get it going and he said he made it home fine. Thankfully he was about 1 mile from his house at a gas station when this happen. Any ideas? I tried to search but found nothing. Thanks!

Sounds like a column lock problem on a car with the second GM tsb performed.
Read the sticky on the columm lock problems - pay particular attention to the areas regarding the fuel shutoff.
