Default Power Braking

I can't do it!
I have 295/35/19 KDW2s. I have an A4 with 3.15 gears. The car runs consistent 13.5x sec 1/4miles.When I hold the brake and give it the gas the car just boggs down. No tire spin. Why can't I spin the tires while holding the brake?
How much do the taller rear tires decrease my gear ratio?
Thank you.

Cars the spin the rear tires while braked have a brake bias control. Moving full brake bias to the front wheels, while the rear wheels spin.

The traction control is off.
Am I to understand from Au N Egl's post that the vette is not "set up" to be power braked?
TIA

I'll assume you are turning the traction control off....

Are you doing a quick spin in the water box to get the tires wet initally? If they are dry, they are tough to spin and could cause damage.

Describe your current procedure.

Here is mine (6 speed, but you get the idea):
Get the back wheels in the waterbox
1st gear, spin to roll the tires over once
Roll forward out of the water box
Place in 2nd gear
Rev to 3-4k or so
Dump the clutch and move left foot to the brake
Apply just enough brake so as not to move forward
Apply more throttle so as not to bog (usually 5 - 5.5k)
Once I see a decent amount of smoke.....
Let go of brake and ride the burnout past where the front tires were

I would suspect your traction control is engaged. I have a stock A4 with 2.73s and I have no problem power braking the car at all.

My 99 Auto does the same thing. When I try to power brake, there is no power what so ever. This is with the traction control off.

My procedure is pretty much the same as yours, but for an A4. I can spin the tires by planting the pedal from a stand still (wet or dry), but I can't power brake it.

Don't push your brakes so hard. Check your tire pressure (too low?).
