I prefer the GM Performance Parts wire set. It is part # 12495519 and that kit contains all 8 wires. They are red so they "dress up" the look of the engine, the price is reasonanle, and they work great.

You might want to try www.moroso.com. We are a supporting vendor and have been supplying wires to racers for many years. We now have several sets of wires for the C5 and the C6.

Every Vendor says their products are the best. There is not much to be gained in this area. GM Stock wires are fine or if you like red ones The Hot Wire set by GM. If you have a bad set get a new set of them. If you are racing or dealing with extreme temps. I use Magnecore KV85 race wires for headers. I have not seen any other comapny compare their wire sets to theirs. Enjoy your ride! Don

I am using Taylor's "Thundervolt" -I wanted blue wires.
These are my second set. I have LGM headers and I only sleeve one wire.
They held up good. but after 3 plug changes the old set was tired.
If red is good the GM Perf wires are fine.

Stay away from Borg Warner wires. Went trough two sets trying to pull em off the very first time I put em on.

I went with MSDs and haven't had a problem. I'm sure GM wires are good too.

Best wires for the BUCK..(PERIOD!) Quality plugs and boots and internal connections! There very durable, Look excellent and have a OEM fit (naturally) and uses the OEM shields and the cost is VERY reasonable compared to the rest.

can I see a picture of the GM red wires? I have no idea how old the wires are on my C5, but if the previous owner never changed them, I could be in the market for a set!

I may be to late but Taylor's "Thundervolt" are my vote! I've ran MSD and stock wire and the Taylors are far better in fitment and performance.

Use the GM wires with the heat shields. I have yet to see any proof that expensive wires buy any type of gains over the GM wires.

I had the MSD's without heat shields. They lasted for a year. Once I put in heads / cam, the extra heat toasted them and I got a ton of misfires. Wires disintigrated when I went to change them. Went back to stock wires and have had no issues in 4 years.

That's interesting. How did you go about measuring the performance increase? Dyno chart, or did you times go down at the track?

Just wondering.
