A-4 shift knob

A-4 shift ****
I have a 1998 C-5 A-4 and want to change out the shift ****. The ones i see seem not to have the square button on top, can anyone tell me how this works, and how hard is it to change out, i see the procedure to the 6 speed but nothing for the A-4. Thanks Jerryk :confused:

There is a "U" shaped clip on the side of the shifter that faces the dash that you have to pry out with a small screwdriver or blade and then it simply pops off. If you don't mind spending a bit more you can use 6 speed shift ***** on the A4, however you need to buy the adapter from Exit28. They sell the silver shift **** and when you buy it, it comes with an adapter that slips over the exposed rod then you simply screw on the 6 speed ****. I have the Flameball that lights up on my A4 and it kicks A S S :D

that's what I've heard as well.....makes getting a new **** for us another $100.....:(

I have the Billet chrome one. Very sweet. I purchased mine from ZIP Products but couldn't find it out there since they changed their website up.
It has a push button on the top like a normal A4 shifter.....
