Default Reduced Engine Power??

Have a 2000 conv driving last night and engine stuttered lights on dash flickered and stalled... Display showed reduced engine power along with a bunch of other codes... Started back up, went to drive and just died, now there is nothing when i turn key, no cranking nothing at all, batt volts show 11.9... Any clues??

First thing I'd do is check the cables to the battery to be sure they are clean and tight. Just because it shows about 12 volts doesn't mean the connection can support the amperage needed for cranking or running the car. While you have the cables OFF the battery, check the connections below at the starter motor ... same thing, clean and tight.

If the connections are OK, I'd next try either taking the battery to a shop for a test, or a jump start. A cell in the battery may have died, and while it shows 12 volts, that will drop to almost nothing when a load is placed on the battery.

If battery and connections are all good ... post again and we can look into things like the engine ground connections.

Thanks im gonna check that, it was just at the shop cause i had an exhaust leak and they took the starter out when they pulled the header out.. maybe the connection is poor, thx for the input
