So I went to the site (nicely done btw) and the write-up states that it will work on all engines UP TO 5.0L. Just for fun I used their 'Shop by vehicle' box and low & behold it IS available for my car! I guess Chev lied about my engine size.....
BTW - look at the parts that are in the kit! There is no way that any engine could run with that 'turbo' fan blocking the intake!

So to get your cars engine to make 30hp more doesnt mean youll need a 30hp electrical motor.
Umm, no-one posted that.... Talk about mis-information.
It was posted that a mechanical supercharger puts a 30hp load (and it was also posted that 13hp-20hp was required) on the motor through the drive belt. Parasitic losses is the wrong wording to be used. The power taken from the motor by the supercharger drive belt is the power required to drive the supercharger.
There are losses either way. The crank may be inputting 30hp but the belt drive is only 95% efficient and delivering 28.5hp to the blower shaft. Well, an electric motor might only be 95% efficient too, meaning you input 30hp = 22380W into the wires and only get 28.5hp at the shaft.
Since you know so much about power and flow and such, why don't you calculate the theoretical power needed to deliver enough air to feed 9lbs of boost into a 350cu-in motor when turning 5500rpm?
Yes. You broke a forum rule. I believe the cut-off is 90 days to reopen a thread.
yeah, i never understood that one...
so say you find an old thread that addresses a situation you're in, but it's more than 3 months old. now you have to make a new thread. then somebody else a few months later runs into the same situation, and when he makes a new thread, he gets yelled at & told to do a search... to find two other threads addressing his situation, but should he say anything in them, he gets yelled at as well - however by creating another new thread, he then adds to the ever-growing list of clutter to have to search through.

it's a never-ending stupid cycle.
Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Especially when I got yelled at in a very snide way.

The rules and guidelines section has this issue listed. I rechecked and it is 45days, but it is there. Most people don't spend the time to read the forum rules and guidelines and then complain about them or the people that are not the most polite about reminding them about the rules.

I actually did look after I was "reminded" but still didn't see it.
Nonetheless, it is what it is. thanks.
