Default Window Valet users I have questions...

1) Anyone had any problems with this unit?

2) Did you read the disclaimer, if so what precautions do you advise?

3) Do you think it is worth the $150 plus shipping?

Thanks,
Doug

I like mine... once it helped when some jerk parked his pickup truck so close I couldn't get in until I lowered the window (lucky that he didn't bounce his door off mine...). I probably could have reached the window switch without it, but it was a lot easier just to hit the unlock button three times. Worth $150? That's a call you'll have to make.

Oh, and so far no problems...

1) not really! the extended RAP feature seems to have a very short delay, maybe 1/2 second. when you open the door the radio goes out for that time then comes back on until I lock the car. no big deal. had it stop working once, turned out it had partially fallen out of the ODB2 socket, easy fix!
2) don't stick your head in the window path and press the lock button 3 times in a row.
3) yes, great mod, much fun! I love to show off the remote windows and there isn't a mod which is easier to install.

probably the #1 most disappointing thing with it is the safety feature built in to keep someone from getting their head caught in the window, the windows will go down from any position, but if you are putting the windows up by remote they must start from the all the way down position. other wise they will go up then go right back down. I was hoping that I could leave my windows cracked on warm days and use the valet to put them up quickly if it started raining or something so I wouldn't have to go out in the rain, but I would have to put them down first. kinda annoying.

One of my favorite mods.

Should have come this way from the factory!!!!!!

Paid about $120 for mine, but I would spend $150 to get another one. Once you begin using the various features you are HOOKED.

I've had mine for a long time now. When I bought a newer Vette, pulled it out of my '98 and it worked right off the bat with no reprogramming. I like being able to vent the interior before getting in on a hot day. Another cool feature is that you can record your current highest speed attained. After doing a high speed run, since I was paying attention to my driving, I was able to see my highest speed after the run.

I've had mine for a few years. Its a nice gizmo but in all honesty even with a Vert I could live without it.

It was nice to drop the windows on approach in Vegas. It let some of the hot air out before I climbed in. If I'm going to drop the top it saves a few seconds. I never use RAP or the monitoring features.

Was it worth £150; probably but its marginal. I'm probably not mainstream in my views though.

Is it a second key fob or do you just reprogram your current?

It adds function to your original fob.

Thanks all. Any more?

For a vert, it is very handy. What I like most is being able to raise the windows after putting the top up, without reaching back into the car.

I'm about 6 foot, 170 pounds so I'd say about average, but having a camaro for all my life and now having a vette, i was thinking this would be awesome for the simple fact that you have 1/2 the door to wiggle around when getting out. I wish I had this for my 1998 camaro, since I would take the tops off and on constantly without getting back in the car after. With the vette top being so big, i'm not sure how anyone puts the top back on gracefully without sitting inside the car.

I haven't had any problems with mine, and believe it's a great addition for a convertible.

BTW, you can buy it here for $135 shipped any day.

Works well and also lets me know if the battery is dead. When the car isn't driven and the battery is too weak to start the car the windows go down.

Don't think I like that "feature". There may be times, like in the rain, where the battery dies and you don't want the windows down to add to your problems.
