I've had a lot of little problems, but nothing that left me stranded. My drivers side door lock is intermittent, my seats rock, interior parts fell off, just enough to question the quality of the car. Would I buy another GM car...probably not.
[QUOTE=BlackRocket;1564339435]Since the C5 has been around a while I thought it would be good to do a poll on any reliability / maintenance issues that have occurred.
First, I am a woman (so don't hold against me), but I need some manly advice from your forum. I have an 02, and the oil pressure sending unit keeps failing. I have already had it replaced twice, 11/11, 12/11 and it just failed again. I know this because the oil pressure guage in the vette goes all the way to maximum. ANY IDEA WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THIS TO OCCUR??? I paid for the first one to be replaced and it wasn't cheap (is anything on a vette???) and they replaced the last one and this one, under warranty for parts and labor. Help!!!!! Thanks. Sherry
I don't know why it would keep failing repeatedly, and so soon, but you could have it relocated to the front of the manifold the next time it fails... then it becomes a 5 minute job to replace. http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/p-3...04-c5-z06.aspx
no problems 2002 low milage 5k but has a a@a supercharger. 575 rhp 475 torque otherwise all stock. it dynoed at 6700 rpm/ they said with headers could of done 630 /also have a 2003 anniv. conv,t auto 12 k never a problem. just the original battery both cars.
98 Coupe with no mechanical issues or codes at all. Am 3rd owner and car now has 117K on it. Have had to fix some of the comfort/appearance items (dim climate control display, oil sending unit, floppy driver side mirror) and the driver side visor needs to have its "floppiness" repaired. Replaced worn out seat covers with new. Just got back from 2400 mile trip in the car, no issues at all.

only issue with my 98 is if i leave the key in the ignition and let the car sit in the garage a few days the battery will go dead. If i pull the key out , it can sit for a month and not go dead. Thats it
2002 ZO6, crank sensor failed after a year long intermittent trial of trying to determine what was causing occasional engine shut-down. Of course it failed again 1 month later...
2003 M6 bought 6 months ago with 36k. Up to 42k now, had one siezed caliper slide at purchase resulting in new DBA rotors and akebono pads. Super reliable car, daily driver rain or shine.
I occasionally get the "pull key and wait 10 sec." which I suspect is a really plugged up fuel filter that I'll be changing before I tune. Running V12 tires at 30.5 psi nitrogen getting great 33.5mpg highway and 20-26 city.
